Default 2000 Accord - Lower Ball joint removal

Hi!

I have to replace the front lower ball joint of my 2000 Accord, can anyone tell-me if this is the right tool to remove the balll joint:

http://www.lasertools.co.uk/item.aspx?item=536&cat=492

Also, is this the right tool to separate it from the lower arm:

To remove the ball joint, do I have to completely remove the knuckle or is it enough to remove the drive-shaft?

I like this one for separating it from the lower arm.

I'm not sure if the other one will work to get it out from the knuckle. Maybe just use a press? You probably have to take the knuckle out.

to remove the ball joint i would just pop the tie rod out, pop out the lower ball joint and pull enough to slip out the axle and swing the knuckle out of the way. Granted i haven't worked on a 6th gen so i might be completely out of league on this but thats what i've done with most vehichles.

I'd probably unbolt the bottom or loosen the bottom shock bolts to allow the knuckle to swing out of the way easier.

So, it may be possible to remove the ball joint without removing the knuckle

Would this be the press to remove the balljoint:

Yeah, that should work. Looks like you can remove the axle & tierod, so you can pivot the knuckle out & spin it on the upper balljoint. I don't think disconnecting anything with the shock is necessary.

The press I was thinking of is a stationary tool, where you would have to remove the knuckle & carry it over to the press.
