Default custom paint job question

I'm about to get my car repainted. I went to get an estimate out here in Vegas and this shop who does tight paint job did an estimate on my car. i want everything repainted in navy blue etc and she gave me a quote for $3400. I almost fainted. Now am I just cheap or is this about the right price for a custom paint job?? Does anyone know anyone in Vegas who does custom paint jobs? What is a good price to pay for them to strip/sand/and paint my car?? Any help is appreciated. thanks!!

My friend got a quote for a paint job in Boston for his old Porsche and they wanted $5000, because he was changing car colors. In order to do that, all panels and doors need to be removed to make sure that everything is painted. I assume that would be the same situation for you too.

yeah they r going to strip the car but that price doesn't include the painting of the door jams, under the hood etc since I'm not changing the color. They said that if they did that the price would be alot higher. I was like damn!! My brother said that 3000 is about right but that includes everything....and this quote I got doesn't.

it all depends on the job and color scheme
i got quoted $2500 for a custom respray (house of kolor candy blue) of my car but i opted to keep the car white and only had the kit spray

that's the price range you're gonna look at for a quality paint job.

I painted my car metallic silver and paid 2650$ for it. They did the door jams, trunk, under the hood everything even fixed all the dents in my car and shaved my emblems. My friend payed 2200 at a different shop and they didnt even paint under the hood or the the inside of the trunk area. Good paint jobs are not cheap.
