Default Warning Lights please help

Ok so I went to wash my car. My engine was really dirty so I decided to wash it. It is not the first time I wash it. I have washed my other car's engine too with no problems.

But this time after I finished all these lights stayed on: SRS, Brake, battery, and its showing all doors open including the trunk.

I already disconnected the battery but no luck.

Any help? please help.

Thanks guys.

Yeap.

Nonsensical dash lights = failing alternator. These tend to go at 80K, so if you're around that, it's about time.

Thanks e3Nine.
My car have 118,000 miles.
What is the normal amp for my car's alternator?
Is it ok if buy an alternator that was upgraded to 165 AMPS?
I'm looking at ebay.

I second the alternator as the culprit. I think washing the engine may have done it in. When you wash the engine you have to cover the alternator with a plastic bag & make sure no water gets in it. If you start the engine with the alternator wet it burns out. You can confirm it is the alternator by starting the car and disconnecting the battery with the engine running. If the engine stalls the alternator is bad.

Take a volt meter, when the car is running the voltage across the battery should be around 13.00-14.5V or somewhat in this range, when the engine is off, the voltage should drop to around 12-12.5V.

If you see the voltage change between engine off and on you can rule out the alternator as it is working fine and you should look elsewhere.

If it doesn't raise the voltage, it means there is no charge.

Thanks guys.

OK, so today in the morning I went to check out the car. It is completely dead. So when the alternator goes bad it causes the battery to drain overnight?

The problem is that when it fails, you never know to what percentage the battery was charged to when you left it. The computer systems in your car still draw current when the car is off.

So to your question I'd say yes. It is possible. Unless ofcourse you charged it to 100% when you left it.

Thanks everyone.

Ok so today I jump the car and drove off to get the alternator checked.
I saw that less lights came on the intrumental panel, which is good.

I went to autozone and murrays to get the alternator checked, they couldn't check the alternator while it was on the car. So then I remember what planenut recomended me to do.
I turn on the car and disconnected the negative battery. I didn't really notice the difference then I got on the car and press the accelerator. Big mistake!!!
All the intrumental lights from the panel come on, the cooling temperature gauge raise up! I rapidly connected the battery back. Now my front and back passenger windows dont work and the clock on the car went out.
I replaced the three fuses that are located on the passenger's side which were burned. The (clock 7.5) started working right away. The Windows did worked. It keeps burning fuse number 8 (20 A Front Right Power Window).

I took my car to Firestone. They said that the alternator is working just fine with 13.5 volts. They said that the battery its the one that is not giving out much power.

Thanks guys for all the Help!

Ok, so now I know that the battery needs to be replaced. Can someone tell me whats the best brand and model for my car? Is buying a honda battery the way to go? I would like to buy a battery that gives out alittle more power that way the car can perform better. any input its appreciated.

The fuse keep blowing. No. 8 (20 A Front Right Power window)

I see the brake light, battery, and all doors open in the instrumenal panel only when I accelerate. When I brake all the the lights go off.

Thanks guys.
