Default Question about rims..

Just have a question in general about rims for my car, I'm wondering what rim manufacturer makes a stable, light weight rim for my Accord. I've heard from a couple friends that Racing Harts are good, but I took a look just now and they're way out of my league, price wise. If anyone could post a few names,it would be extremely helpful.

Thanks

If you can't afford quality wheels, you shouldn't be shopping for wheels..... yet..... don't buy cheap wheels. Save up.

Well, you don't have to buy the lightest, strongest wheels out there. You can compromise a little and still get a decent product. How much are you willing to spend for wheels and tires?

with limited financial issues, id go for 18" konig verdicts, that is if you want ur car to look nice. For performance (weight reduction), go for the rotas. Very light, and i think they're excellent knock off brands.....

Honestly, I dont know much about rims, only the really, really basic stuff, like 17 inch tires WILL NOT fit on 19's...

As of right now I can spend up to $1700, which is a summer's worth of work (I'm a poor 16-year old )

Anywho, I'll look into the brands that you guys mentioned...thanks alot!

$1700!?!?!?! that is more than enough to buy quality rims!! Go to www.wheelmax.com and look at their racing hart selection. For example, my favorite rims, which are the RH Z5000 Evo are only 1499 with tires INCLUDING shipping feee. With 1700, u should set ur levels a lot higher.

Default doh!

Bah, I knew I should've considered rewording my last post.

I figure that $1700 is the amount I can make in a summer, not to be confused with the amount of money that I have now, which is $5.00 and a kit-kat bar

Thats a good point Elite, thanks for the info. I live in the suburbs of IL, and my town isnt a bad one, but there is its fair share of crime :eh:

Thanks again for all your help, guys.

Also AcCoRdude, I checked wheelmax.com and the RH Z5000 Evo isnt there anymore, do you know if it was a special or clearance item?

There are alot of things to consider when thinking of buying rims. I purchased my rims after analyzing everything beforehand, such as where my car will be during the day, and at night. I was able to get the garage at night since my dad has a Mini Cooper there was enough space on the other side I have 18" Racing Hart C2 Evo's and I love them. You can get them for 1499 with tires now shipped. They are a great wheel and really make the car looks great. Make sure you lower the car though if you plan on purchasing a wheel like this one with a lip. It just doesn't look right without being lowered. Like others have said, you dont have to spend all 1700 dollars. If I were you, I'd spend that money on a nice set of CL-S wheels (17") and some lower springs/shocks. That'll probably run you close to 1700 but you'll get the full package. I'm really feeling that look too, but its all up to you.

lowering does NOT necessarily cost 600-1000 dollars. It only costs that much if you either want eibach prokits+koni yellows OR teins/apex'i/tanabe full coilovers with adjusting dampeners. If you simply get springs and use stock shocks, you'll only spend about 200 dollars including installation and alignment. Its just personal preference as to how much u wanna spend on a drop, but lotta people do just go with springs on stock shocks and it seems to work fine as long as the drop is not a slam to the floor.
