Default 4gen audio issues

For some odd reason my front speakers quit working, well the passenger side works sometimes (if you hit the side panels by your feet). It has a POS Clarion CD player in it, and everything with the wiring is cool. Any guesses? Like I said, I can get it to work but after a while, or when I shut down the car it no longer works. Not a big concern, but annoying. It is happening on my '90.

maybe the connection on the speaker is loose
or its blown or fuked up
i'm no expert so i'm not 100% sure

did you check all connections, to speakers AND behind deck? if not look in both places, even if it looks ok, you might want to disconnect it and reconnect it.

Yeah I tired all that, now I'm thinking that the problem is somewhere in the wiring between the harness and the speakers, back in no man's land. A few months ago the entire A/C system was replaced and the under side of the dash was all apart. I think they may have pinched off a wire when they reinstalled everything and it has finally gone south.

sounds more like the speaker is bad
if you have to kick the door panel, its likely that the voice coil has a burnt spot on it. pull the speaker out and try a diff speaker...

I don't have to kick the door panel, I have to kick the center dash, on the right side of the pedal, that's why I think the wiring is bad. I checked the speakers and they seem fine, but I'll probably replace them anyway.

u might have to run a new wire to the speaker
i suggest runnung a test wire first from the wiring harness to the original speaker to determine if its actually shot to sh!t
then u can either run a new wire or get new speakers
lets just hope the speaker is blown cause its a lot easier(but more expensive) to replace that than to run a new wire in the factory location
good luck
