Default 98 Accord - can't compress rear brake cylinder

I replaced the rear wheel bearing in my 98 Accord which has disk brakes but had a bear of a time getting the caliper off the disk since there was a rusty ridge on the outermost edge. Tried to compress the brake cylinder but couldn't and now can't get the caliper back on. Is there a locking mechanism in the hydraulics or does the parking brake have a lock that prevents my compressing the cylinder? Decided to leave problem out in the driveway till tomorrow am.

I think you have to spin them back in.

yeah, i also think that u have to spin them in.

There's a special key made for thsoe kinds of pistons.
U can usually use a flat head screw driver.

This is what that key looks like:

Hey, you know the cylinder is cut away in the form of an X which could be designed to facilitate turning it in ... tomorrow I'll give it a try ... thanks for the prompt responses.

Or use a large prybar/crowbar/screwdriver...there are a ton of threads about this. you better pray you didn't damage the piston by trying to compress it, I know a lot of people who have.

Shows to go, don't work on your car without the cheap insurance of a $50 service manual for tricks you might not know about no matter how familiar you are with mechanics...
