Default 99 accord V6 transmission

so im getting it rebuilt next week. I am going to give the shop honda ATF to put in when they are done.

I was wondering how many quarts total i need to take?

also, is it reasonable to ask them to replace the fluid in the torque converter and the cooler as well? if so, how much more fluid will that take?

thanks in advance.

well the TC holds about a quart of fluid. Once they remove the tranny it should drain out. I also suspect they change the TC in addition to the transmission.

I would buy 6 quarts of ATF. I tend to buy 6 and usually have 1 left over.
Better to be safe than sorry i say.
How much are they charging you for the rebuilt tranny.? Is this through honda?
Also, make sure they offer a warranty.

I know they will replace the fluid, but i doubt they will use Honda ATF if i dont take it to them.

no, its not through Honda. Honda wanted 3200 and this place is doing it for 1200. they offer an 18 month 18000 miles.

thats not bad at all. I would make sure they dont cheap out on the parts though. Also, I've heard that they will need to install an external tranny fluid filter so make sure that gets done. Honda does that when they warranty replace the transmission.
