Best bet is to read the owners manual for the 98, those things are pretty helpful.

Best-Buy or Circuit city usually has the best price on the Honda-Alpine changer adapter. Usually about $30... Just tell them what you are planning to do... Also, make sure its an M-Bus changer... the model number should be something like CHM-xxxx... if it has an A in it, CHA-xxxx, its an Ai-net changer and will not work.

you should check the back of your radio before you do anything to see if it's the same connector. I'm pretty sure it's the same because alpine has been making honda radios for awhile.

Alpine never made honda radios... it used to be panasonic, and now its pioneer.

Alpine M-bus changers are compatible with all "changer controlling" honda head units... with the addition of a special adapter. There are 2 adapters available, one that fits the panasonic made deck... which is a round DIN connector on the deck end, and the other is for the pioneer made decks, which has a rectangular molex plug for the deck.

The easiest way to check if your Honda deck will control a changer, is to look for a CD or CD CHG button. As far as I know, all the Honda in dash CD players will control a changer... and MOST new cassette decks.

The 98-up accord EX double DIN deck WILL control a changer.

cheap old getto crutchfields sells adapters for all alpine CD to honda OEM head set ups. Autotoys.com does too.
