I need your Opinion!
Hello everyone,
I am currently browsing and researching cars. What I would prefer is, a Honda or Toyota, because of their economy and reliability. My budget is maximum $10,000. Preferably I want the car to be no older than 6 years (~2000 +) .
Today I went to a Honda dealership and got a deal for a 2004 Honda Accord LX Sedan 4D for exactly $10,000 'out the door' (I must add, that I know the manager)
The car features are the following:
Engine: 4-Cyl. 2.4L VTEC
Transmission: Automatic
Mileage: 127717
ABS (4-Wheel)
Air Conditioning
AM/FM Stereo
Cruise Control
Dual Front Air Bags
FWD
Power Door Locks
Power Steering
Power Windows
Single Compact Disc
Tilt Wheel
I test drove the car, and it is excellent inside out, although it was previously used as a company car. It is very clean and without any accidents, dents etc..
The only thing that is currently holding me back from buying the Accord, is the high mileage being 127717. I know that Hondas can go well above the 300's.
Yet, I am wondering if this is a good deal or not?
Compared to other, non Honda cars within my budget, this would be the most car for my buck, including lots and lots of quality!
I would appreciate your opinions and/or experiences!!!
Thanks a lot!!!

True, Honda's reliability are great and mileage can hit 200k, 300k+ if it's taken care of but being that it's an 04 with 127XXX over 3-4 years. That's around ~30k miles per year. Personally I wouldn't buy a car with such high mileage being rather new. Patience is the key. Keep looking and don't rush into the first car you see. You can find a Honda/Acura with alot less mileage for the same amount of money. Maybe it might be an 02 or 03 but it's still a great deal.
Are you just looking at Accords? If not, maybe you might consider a civic. Great gas mileage, reliability, and it's cheaper than the Accord. You can probably get a decent Civic with low mileage for around the same price and it'll have most of the same features as the Accord.

Remember, while it's true that Honda's can go a long time, that's mainly considering the engine and transmission (and often not even the transmisson). Wheel bearings, driveaxles (cv joints), suspension components, exhaust components, engine components (alternator, power steering), air conditioning components, etc, etc, etc, don't usually last to the 300K or even the 200K or heck, even the 150K mark without having to be replaced, repaired or otherwise worked on. Granted, I think those things still last longer in Honda's than other cars, in general. But at 127K you'll inevitabley be comming up on a few of those things. Just something to think about. I'd keep looking for a lower miles vehicle.
just get a pimped mini bike that should have all your requirements
lol just kiding
hondas are better the toyotas period i advise you get a honda older then 2004, cuz to me and many people, some honda accords kinda sorta lost thier awsome performance (NOT INCLUDING THE 08!!!!!!!) i would advise you to get a 98-00 make sure you take a real good look at the car be4 purchase
accord; i have a 95

Dont qoute my on this, but all the honda's I have owned, the water pump needed to be replaced around 125,000. Ten G's for a newer accord seems to be a good deal. If your buddy gave you that good of a deal you could always try and flip it.
