Default car getting weaker

i recently realized that my '05 accord ex has gotten weaker than before. it's an automatic, and when i'm driving i feel it's shifting into higher gears at a slower rate... like not fast enough.

sometimes i'm on the on ramp to a highway and as i accelerate the car's speed doesn't go up much, then i press a little harder then nothing happens and all of a sudden the rpm jumps from 2.5k to like 5k.

i was wondering if this is a kind of maintenance problem or something.

I'm sure you're looking for something more in-depth (and helpfulh but I say change the fluid Couldn't hurt :hsugh:

Is yours the V6 or I4? I wonder if the issues that affect the 6th gen autos could also apply to yours:shrug:

If so, here's hoping yours is the I4.

hopefully you're using the right gas in the first place.
If you're riding on v6 and using regular gas to save money, that might lack you from having proper power for your vehicle... and also if you have A/C running, that also take away some power from you engine. Not A lot but just enough where you can feel the difference slightly.
since it's 05', unless you drove it hard... shouldn't be from like spark plugs or anything. but it's not impossible either.

Now that I give it some thought, it might not have to do with the transmission actually, how many miles?

I'd check the air filter and maybe even the spark plugs (though I doubt that's the issue since it's so new).

i4, the car's been driven around a lot, not sure exactly how many miles but i'll check it later.
and i'm using the right gas so no problem there. and i usually open the windows and never have the a/c on.

has 24k miles on it.

If you think there's any chance it's trans. related I would change the fluid just to be safe. Just once, I think the drain and fill x3 should really only apply to a neglected transmission or if you don't know how a used car was treated.

Are you getting gas from the same place as always (preferably a bigger chain so less chance of getting a "bad batch")?

Check or replace(it's due by now) the air filter and get back to us
