2002 Bumper on a 98, and Full Nose Masks
Someone recently tore my bumper with their big Ryder Truck so I'm going to get it fixed for free. I was wondering if anyone has ever installed a 2002 bumper on a 98 Accord Coupe before? Does it fit without modifications?
My second question is has anyone used a Full Nose Mask (from Honda)?
How's it on your paint job? Do you have to take it off everytime you wash your car or during bad weather? Any suggestions would be great.
One last thing. Fog Lights: Honda Factory driving lights or PIAA (I was thinking #004X Xtreme White driving lights)?
Thanks

Damn you guys, nobody wants to reply? :squint:
First off, the 2002 bumper will fit on your Accord. While it may be cosmetically different, it still uses the same clip and screw mounting positions. It's likely that way in order to save money, given that it's the same dimensions. I'd do it to my car if it weren't for the cost factor...I think the 2002 bumpers look better than the 1998-2001's.
Secondly, I'd skip the bra. They always end up messing up your paint in the end, with uneven fading and the rubber (if it's a cheap bra) can bake into the paint, staining it. It also ruins the lines of the car. 3M makes clear tape that you can apply to the nose of your car that will prevent chips and sandblasting from road grime. It will save you money, plus it's invisible. Works great.
As for foglights, PIAA, no question. OEM foglights aren't that bright, they're more cosmetic than anything else, and Honda wants a bundle of money for them ($260.00 around here). PIAA's are a great brand, I hope to get them on my car shortly (see signature, I just installed superwhites for my low-beams). If you still want the OEM's though, go to www.hparts.com. Much cheaper.
Happy motoring.

The Nose Guard is manufactured by Honda themselves, do you know it they are any better. I'll look into the tape.
Do they sell them at most parts store? Where did you hear about them.
I'm sure they aren't hard to find or I can ask a Body Shop if they have any.
The Honda fog lights I saw on sale for about $130 at Handaaccessories.com
they are having a half off sale. That's why I was thinking of buying them, plus it comes with wiring that will allow me to use the existing light switch for the fog light. But I'm planning on getting PIAA Xtreme White replacement headlight bulbs so I can get matching fogs.
Thanks for the advice Mr. Fanatic

The clear bra really isnt tape as you are probably thinking of it. It is sheets that are made specifically for your car and can be bought at xpel.com (i think) along with a few other places (do a search online for clear bras). I have heard the Xpel one is great and all you see is a line on your car on close inspection. I would love to get one but have a regular black bra and havent had any of the problems listed above and have used the bra on and off for 211,00 miles. I usually only use it for the love bugs but its great. I def. recommend taking it off to wash the car and after you drive your car in the rain so it can dry. If i were you i would get the clear bra, although it is more expensive and is recommend to have it installed
Good luck
Good luck
Thank you guys for responding.
Just to let ya know Xpel doesn't list Honda Accord. But I did find it at
Chipguard.com they use the same 3M materials.
Invaluable info, I hope I'll be able to return the favor sometime.
