Default best 5w20oil

If you have under 99,000 miles switch to synthetic. There are 2 ways to do it. One use a blend and the next change go to fully synthetic. If the car has under 49,000 miles just use a 5 minute motor flush and switch to synthetic. Depending how many miles you do in 3 months. If you do about 5000 to 7500 miles switch to Mobil One 5w20 if you do more you can use Mobil One Extended Performance Oil good for 15,000 miles but still change it every 90 days reguardless. The filter should also be changed with every oil change. Do not use regular oil you are killing your engine made to last 300,000 or more miles. I have a 6cyl 2003 EX Coupe with 46,000 miles and a 6cyl 1998 EX Coupe with 231,500 miles and that is all I put in the engine. Both oils are available at Walmart 7500 oil 5 quarts about $23.97 and 15000 oil 5 quarts about $28.97 it is important that once you switch always use the same exact oil. Castrol has a synthetic oil but I believe in Mobil One as I put on almost 200,000 miles on my 98 with this oil and the engine is quiet as silk and performance is strong as new.

Default best oil

Why would you change to 5w30 or 10w30 when the owner's manual clearly recommends 5w20? I suspect a lighter weight oil is energy conserving and less likely to cause sludging while still protecting your engine.

tinkerer - check this link out for some insight between the differences between 5w-20 and 5w-30... and why Honda made the switch... TSX Oil: 5w30 vs. 5w20 - Did Honda Switch?

I have a 95 Accord 2.2 and I have used Mobil One it's entire life along with Fram filters (more recently Fram High Mileage filters) changed every other oil change. I read that changing filters every oil change is not recommended because brand new filters are not as good at filtering out small particulates compared to a 3,000 mile old filter. The car has never burned up oil, leaked it, or produced shavings.

with the detergents used in oil today, it really is best to change the filter with every oil change. keeping an oil filter in too long will clog up the filter element and cause the oil to simply flow through the bypass and not be filtered at all.

Ok, awesome replys.
Thanks

Now I have a question about the transmission fluid.
What kind, and how much to use(as in how many quarts(liters), do I use)?

Also.....brake fluid, coolant, etc...
What kind, when to replace, and how much?

Its been interesting seeing peoples opinion

Thanks,
xcitor

FRAM are garbage filters, hands down.
