Default please help. accord not moving.

I have a 97 accord that's been giving me some problems. I had a transmission put in a few months ago, and just got the car back from having a motor put in less than 2 weeks ago.

a few days ago the master cylinder went on the car, and it rolled back into a small dirt hill. I was able to drive the car home, and replaced the master cylinder the enxt day.

Now here's my problem.
The car doesn't want to move. When I turn the car on everything's fine. I can put it into drive and reverse, and move about no prblem, but after about a minute it'll stop moving, and the engine will just rev.

I checked all the fluids and there fine. I think it may have to do with the throttle cable, but I checked everywhere and couldn't find a single thing saying how the cable should be adjusted. I do know how to adjust it, but I don't know har close or far I should move those bolts.

Has anyone had a problem like this? And could anyone possibly help me resolve it? I really need to get it fixed. I use my car for work, and I've had to keep telling them somethign is wrong with my car. I've been having to tell them that for like 2 months now, and I think another problem will just put them over, and they'll get rid of me.

Hmm sounds like it's slipping out of gear, does it do that in all the D's?

Not exactly sure.
I know that when in D4 it drives fine for like a minute. then when it stops moving it won't continue to move in any other drives. I haven't tried moving it in another drive at first. I'm actually going to go check that right now.

edit: I just checked it, and it drives in all the gears fine at first, but like before it just slowly stops moving.

After all those problems, I wouldn't dump anymore money into it.

I don't plan on putting any more money into it, but I do need to get it running.
The transmission went a few months ago, and everythign else was fine so I just payed the $2k to have it fixed. I figured paying $2k to have my car workign good is better than paying more for another used car.

I needed a new engine because my car hydrolocked in a downpour that came out of nowhere. And again, fixing the car seemed better than just buying another one.

I think the problem I'm having now is an error the mechanic made. the car was idle at 4000rpm. He must of done somethign wrong. the constant high rpm's must of just tore at the transmission. If thats the case I think the mechanic that did the motor would be responsible for the damages, no? I payed him $1600 to have the car running near perfect. and now this is happening.

I don't want to just abandon this car since I have done so much too it. before everything started breaking I had done a ton to it. Body kit, angel eyes, after market taillights, lambo doors, intake, headers, twin loop muffler. And I have a ton of stuff jsut waiting to be put on.

I guess I could try parting it out, but that could take a while.

Wow man. That is horrible luck. I surely wouldnt have done all of that to it. What kind of car is it? Who did you have rebuild the transmission? Maybe try calling whoever worked on it to look at it. Cuz like v6 Accord said, sounds like the tranny.

I would take it back to the shop that installed it. Just curious but how fast were you going when you hydrolocked and did you have a CAI? Did you inspect the engine to see if you had bent/cracked anything? I hyrdolocked my 98 LS 3 times and it was fine. All you have to do is change the air filter, spark plugs, oil, oil filter and make sure you get as much moisture out as you can around the throttle body and spark plug holes. I let my car sit for a day or 2, replaced the parts and it ran perfect. Granted I wasn't going fast and I know this doesn't help now but whatever shop you went to probably wanted a quick buck if they didn't even do what I mentioned. In parts it's like $60 vs $$$ for a new engine. Hope you figure out that tranny problem.

I wasn't going too fast when I hydrolocked. I went to go around a car waiting to turn and ended up goign over a storm drain on the side of the road that had water rushing into it. this was in the middle of a short sudden rain storm. the rain lasted maybe only 20 miutes, but everyting was as if it rained hard for hours, it was crazy. but I blew a hole through the engine. I saw the hole, it was about 2-3inches in diameter.

I tried calling the shop that did the work, but nobody is pickign up. I fear they may be gone for the whole 4th of july weekend. which sucks, I need my car for work.

I have no idea what could be wrong with my car. I thoght it could be the tranny, but I really hope it's not. I think the mechanic that did my engine is responsible for all this though. I got the car back less than two weeks ago from the engine work. and before hydro-locking the tranny was fine. since I got the car back the engine has been reving up high, and fluctuating between rpms at low speeds. I think it put too much on the tranny.

I believe both the engine and tranny are under warrenty though.

oh dude is ur transmission.
when my transmission went bad it would work for a few minutes then it just wouldn't move.
I had the transmission rebuild and it was best choice I ever made. take the car back, make them fix it or sue them. sounds like they did a crappy job.
