I have a 1992 Honda accord everyonce in a while my d-4 will flash and the car will not start if it does start it runs very slow like the transmisions is out I have to let it sit for awhile about 10 to 20 minutes and then it starts up fine can someone help.

 

the blinking D4 is a dead give away to a failed transmission.

 

I have heard that there is a main fuse that is located inside the drivers side kick panel that is going out I dont believe that my transmission is going out because it runs fine.

 

how many time does it blink?

it should blink a certain number of time and then pause and blink again.

 

If you jump the pins on the Service Check Connector, and then turn the key to ON, the D4 light should blink a code. Long blinks and short blinks.

Is the Check Engine Light on also?

 

no the check enging light does not come on.it does not do it all the time I notice it does it when it is really hot out side and it sits in the sun for awhile it did not do it all winter long only in the summer time I know that does not make sense but go figure that.next time it does I will count the blinks 1 long is 10 and shorts count as 1 correct.

D4 light and unable to shift out of park is certainly a transmission error code, usually not good.
