Default Check Engine When Driving Cold

Hey,
Not sure what its related to. But my 94 honda accord lx 2.2 has a wierd check engine light issue. I havent pulled the code yet and i kno i should but heres the deal. When I drive my car cold without letting the engine warm up for a few minutes, the check engine light comes on. Theres no performance change when the light is on and as soon as i turn the car off and back on the light is gone.
its obviously an intermintent problem, but only when i dont let it warm up.

Any Ideas?

If you have a CEL and your car still runs normally I would pull the code and then get back to us. There's no way of knowing what the problem is if nothing happens but a light.

Default EGR Valve

Ya I pulled a code 12 from my computer. Code 12- Malfunction in EGR Lift. I've been looking at the EGR on my 94 and it looks like a pain in the ass to get to. The lift sensor is held down by some wierd clamp thing that is easy to get off, but the bolts that hold the egr on are gonna be a bitch.

I'm not sure how to get a socket down there to get them out. I need to get some kind of socket extender I guess. I've you've done this, is it easy to do? how do you clean the crap out?

Easy as pie to do....get some wire brushes or some big ass pipe cleaners and go to town....or you could just buy a new EGR

Default code 12

yep. comp is throwin a code 12- EGR lift sensor malfunction... wierd that it kicks in when cold and not warm... oh well.

the egr for the 94 accord is pricy as hell. i was thinkin about takin it off and cleaning it... maybe soaking the bottom parts in some kind of carbon cleaner? is that ok? i just gotta figure how to get the damn thing off. i dont have a socket extender long enough to reach down about 4" where its at.

another pain in the ass, but i know its fixable. any suggestions would be appreciated. id like to avoid taking the manifold off.
