Default Good deal??

I went to see an 94 EX Accord coupe last night. The body is well maintained for a 13 year old car. No rust, clean history. 110k miles, timing belt and pump changed at 100k. Here are some concerns: The power windows pull up slow. It pulls down and up, but just slow. The rear bumper is little misaligned. The exhaust doesn't seem to be OEM, but no noise at all. It drives fine and shift good. Brakes are good and so are the tires. Owner wants 3600 FIRM. While on KBB it is showing 3500 for a good condition car. Just want to let you guys know if this is a good purchase. I might consider if I can get him down to 3400.

seems like a good buy. Be sure to tap the rear fenders near the wheel well to see if there's any signs of rusting.

Also, if a body panel has been repainted, you can feel a ridge along the edges. Run your finger around suspect areas to see if there was any body work done.

If it's all good, I'd flash a wad of cash in his face, say $3,300. He'll take it. Nobody turns down cash.

I just got my dad last week a 94 accord EX sedan with 101k miles for only $3200. Was the original owner and adult driven in a nice area (couple were in their late 40's). Maintained at a local Honda dealer and provided a folder full of maintaince done including timing belt/water pump, new exhaust (other was rusted), battery, oil, etc.....body in good condition. He wanted $3350 but talked him down. $3600 is in the ballpark area but can you do SLIGHTLY better, probably.

I have the same window issue with my '94 EX-L sedan that I got last fall. I paid $3400 w/ 132k miles but it was original owner w/ paperwork and the car was in pretty good shape. They were asking $3800 but I talked them down with cash in hand. I suppose I could've gone even lower but oh well.
