Default 2007 Accord Door Locks

I am a new Honda Accord owner! Love the car. I have a question. Can the automatic door locks be programed to locked automatically when the car is put in gear or passes a mph? Ours stays unlocked unless you lock it with the door switches or the remote. If it can be done, how do you program it or do you have to take it to the dealer. Thanks

I could be wrong since I dont own a 7th gen, but I do believe I read on here that it cant be done. I remember a thread about someone complaining of the exact same thing.

That doesn't sound right. My 6th gen locks the doors a couple of seconds after the key is turned to the "run" position. I can't see why Honda would revert back to the old way. Mabey another 2007 accord owner (8 gen?) will chime in.

do you have an aftermarket system?

because my stock 98 EX alarm does not do it.

why do u want the doors to lock at a certain speed or when is on gear? it doesnt make sense and I dont think is possible even with a aftermark.

Usually a good alarm "DEI" will lock all doors when the car is turn on and it will unlock when the car is off as default. yes u can arm while the car is on or moving. you get all options with a good alarm but I never hear of doors locking automatically at specific mph.

yeah, I thought this was some kind of dumb American car thing...

I know my buddies old Pontiac Grand Am he had in High school used to do that, and my cousins old Beretta did that too...

But why would you want it to do that in the first place?
