Default Maintenance light

So the maintenance required light, as well as the check engine light came on in my 1999 Honda Accord. I have heard check engine lights being common in most cars, but what about the maintenance light? What exactly does it mean?

Scheduled maintenence time

It rolls on at certain mileage rollovers.

10k, 30k, 50k etc.

The maintenence schedule should be in your owners manual.

I bought it used and it didn't come with a manual. It just hit 70k miles. What kind of maintenance needs to be done.

That all depends on what's been done to it. But if you bought it used, with no maintenance documentation or reciepts, it's probably best to assume nothings been done. In other words, just go ahead and do everything .

Oil and filter change, air filter, coolant flush, brake fluid, tranny fluid, spark plugs, that kind of stuff.

Or go here:

Create a username and password and it will have all the maintenance stuff for you as well as all the info on your car base on your vin.

there should be a lil button underneath the steering colum that turns that off... hold it for like 5 seconds and it will shut off

but if your close to 90 k, it will be a good idea to inspect the timing belt
