Default Grinding sound in reverse

I have a 93 Accord which will not go into reverse. It makes a loud grinding sound when I try to put it in reverse. Before this point it would sometimes make a loud "clunk" sound and now it is so bad it will not go into gear at all.
Thanks in advance.

Sounds like your reverse gear might be worn out. Do you have trouble getting into any other gears or just reverse? You sure your clutch if full disengaged when your clutch is in?

Hmmm....when was the last time the fluid was changed? Change it with Honda ATF (drain/fill) and see if that helps. If not then I'd take it to a shop and see what the story. I have a feeling the tranny might be shot. Are the other gears fine?

Yes, the other gears are fine, it is only when I try to put it in reverse. Also, the transmission fluid level is good too.

One of the first gears to go out on auto trannies is reverse; maybe you should only park on hills that you can coast backwards and then go to a transmission shop and have them check it out. Most likely your tranny is near failure...
