Default What engines are direct replacement-

for a 96 Accord 4cyl?
Never had an Accord (always Civics), but may buy one with a "needs new motor"-that's all the info I have on the car so far.
I will be keeping it stock and automatic.

Sorry for sounding so vague, but not much time to come up with an offer.

I will be looking at the FAQ page some more.

Thanks in advance.

LS1 are a direct replacement...just kidding

i thought H22 was direct swap...only 1 mount was the problem, which isn't even that big a problem

Well, since your're keeping it stock and looking for just automatic. Just get the same engine that you have right now.:irock:

Get the F22B6 with the ECU. You'll have 10hp more than the standard accord motor without VTEC. It's the Odyssey engine. The main difference is the camshaft opens wider.

We Odyssey owners are wondering why they didn't give us VTEC in the '95-'97 model years.
