Thanks for the suggestions, I will be bringing it home next weekend and will know more about what it actually needs. Worst case is another motor. But keep posting the nearly stock ideas (like the Odessey motor). I'll have to fix this for as little money as needed but can and will be doing the work myself.
So if it does need a whole motor and I can upgrade for the same amount of money, then of course I will entertain that idea.

Default f23a1 into 96 lx

Since I can't find where I've posted this question:
What would it take to install a 98-02 f23a1 (still OBD2 non-vtec) into my 96 lx?

These engines seem more plentiful with lower miles and the same price range as the f22b2.

Uhh...direct swap in no changes except possibly using the F23 ecu instead of the F22 but I think even those are the same.

Nice-let's see if I have any better luck getting my hands on one of those. I drove 3 hours yesterday only to find out the said f22b2 was an f22a1.

Thanks!

Edit: I would like to use my current ECU so I don't have to mess with the immoblizer (whenever that started). Can anyone confirm that I can?
