Default Engine Swap Opinions..

Well, looks like I will be doing an engine swap within the month. I was just curious as to what engine every swapped into their car, and why you decided on that particular one. Ill be doing some research as well and also getting advice from my local custom shop.

After some research and thought, I talked it over with TCC (custom shop) and they are gonna put an H22 in it.

The whole reason I decided to go through with the swap is because my tranny is going. So Im using this as an excuse to swap the whole setup. They are converting it to a 5 speed as well.

Now I need to find somewhere to take my engine. Its F22B2 4cyl nonvtec w/ 113k.

Mostly everyone on the Accord Forum has a stock motor....only people I know so far that have an H22 in their Accords are lil_1_2002 and Nightshade.

I'm tyrin to help with an easy swap and save you money in the long run

With the amount of money your gonna pay for them to convert your car and swap it, you could sell this one and buy a manual accord and save yourself money.

i have a h22 in my accord. i kept the original auto trans from the car, but sent out the valve body to level 10 to get reworked. i kept the auto trans because i do a lot of city driving and shifting a lot gets tiring. whats trans you decide is up to you. the f series trans are geared longer, so you'll get a better top speed. h22 trans are a little bit shorter, so you'll be quicker, but you wont have as high of a top speed. if you're really wanting to be quick, they do make adapter plates so that a b series trans can bolt onto a h22. pick the trans for what you're gonna use the car for.

My apologies for snapping at you. You're telling me to sell this one and buy a honda with a mtx. I thought about it, but I like this one too much, and the fact that I just spent over $1k painting it and $600 in maintenance makes me want to keep it.

I guess it depends on the situation, but since I put so much into my car already, I think its worth it.

Just a question, but how much more would the top speed be with an f series rather than the h22? Not that it really matters to me, but I am curious (and is the f series a 6speed?) I dont really race, just a couple friendly pull offs at the red light against my buddy and his SHO. But I do like the thought of having the power available.

Thanks for the info, I didnt know about those..
