I usally just leave mine unlocked because they will cause more damage poping the lock even tho all you need to do is take out 1 screw holding the levers and push down on the cable to pop the trunk. but the morons busted up both locks and took the stuff still ...

Car thieves couldn't care less about what they damage in a lift.

No use being parranoid. If they want it, they'll get it. In my area it's simply cheaper to get full coverage and not concern yourself with what you lock and what you don't [aside from the doors].

OP-I think you are a little paranoid...but now that I have acquired a fairly solid set of tools (which I keep in my trunk) I can feel ya. But I don't think tools "move" as fast on the car-thief-contraband market.

as stated b4, car thieves aren't going to go through the trouble of making it nice and clean if they really want to get in. They will most likely take a sledge and punch and just bust the trunk lock through.

hopefully you will just have dumb thieves like me. I live in a fairly nice area and drive the oldest car by far. One night, someone slim-jim'd into my car one night and stole the radio. They somehow managed to NOT-notice the RCA cables that are a clear indication that there is more to the stereo than meets the eye. So they went through that much risk just to get a quick $50 at a pawnshop...it wasn't even that good of a receiver...<$200

They still got something for nothing. Thieves tend not to be on the bright side. They don't understand what a missed opportunity is. :-/

I got one set of keys when I just bought my 2001 Accord (used). I ordered a two set of keys from these guys They send you blanks and set you up with a locksmith in your area who can cut the blanks and program the chips in the key.

Honda wanted 75 for a key (and 90 for two) whereas these guys are charging me 65 total for the two.

I got my key programmed for free; cut and programmed for free, actually. They charge you for that kind of stuff? What a rip. I swear if selling cars wasn't profitable; suggesting maintenance and extra security is where the bank is. $400 to do a 30,000 mi. maintenance; $100 for a new key!? Soon the dealership is going to charge you sit in your car.
