Water pump
Hey, everyone....i have a 94 accord lx that now has a water pump problem that just found out a few days ago...it started making noises that i had no clue what it was until i took it to a mechanic....it been two day since i drove it...today i went to starrted it up and notice that there were antifreeze where the water pump is....i need that car for work....and was wonder how long can i drive the car until i can have fix on my day off which is 3 day from now???? any help???? wil i push the engine too far and cause more damage if i do????? any one with any advise???
STOP DRIVING THE CAR. Here's why:
Water pump (and related services if U do it right) about $450.00
Water pump shells and dumps your antifreeze you could RUIN THE ENGINE. Thats about $2500 new, up to $1200 used plus labor.
If you really need the car it sounds like you should fix it immediately. That water pump isnt there for entertainment value.

back to the shop to have get it fixed if your lucky. if you have towing I would tow it to the shop!! because if that pump locks up on you before you run out of coolant and overheat the motor. it can break the timing belt causing the major valve to pistion contact bending the valves and needing a new motor. the timing belt and waterpump should have been replaced 5 years or 90k.
the water pump is also the part on Lisa's mother's car that was busted in the episode of saved by the bell where Zach is driving drunk. Just steal one from Bayside High auto shop and get AC to fix it.
