Default Speed sensor

Where the (insert word of choice*) is the vss located on a 91 accord. It's on the tranny, i know that, but WHERE and WHY can't i find it. I have a haynes manual and it says nothing on the exact location. I don't have any clue why I cant find it. The reason I need to know is because I'm replacing it, and I have a replacement but don't know where it eff'ing goes. It's really starting to annoy me  because it seems like it should be a simple thing, so if anyone can give me a good description of how to find it that would be great. Thanks for any help.

sometimes people are to frustrated to search. Cant blame ya...I get that way too.
while I have no clue where it even is on my car, I searched for you and hopefully this could help

I think that I have located the VSS on the transmission. This is located on top of the transmission on the firewall side. It is also buried under a bunch of hoses. It appears that I need to remove these hoses to get to the VSS. (which looks like a very tedious task) Is this right? I have not been able to locate the connector for the trouble codes despite many contorted positions. I will continue to look for it.

i have a 92 automatic, though. u may want to go on the net and look the part up so u know what it looks like for your car and transmission. there r many different ones. they r positioned in the oddest places. here is where mine is located.. passenger side, rear of engine on the tranny. find the radiator hoses and follow them to the thermostat housing. mine is located around there. i think beneath it? i changed it like 2 or 3 yrs ago. should have 2 narrow, power steering hoses coming off of the top of it.. triangle shaped, black colored part for my car, that plugs in. i think its 2 bolts that hold it on.

if u see the part on the net then it will be easier to find it. in the mess of hoses and wires down there, go to the fender and its half way between the fender, where the tire ends and fire wall look way down. there will not be anything directly in front of u to block it so u can bend down and get in there.

u will need one of those wobble tools (cheap at autozone like $9 range) to get the drivers side bolt off. u can go between the small hoses from the side or the top. i used a wobble tool and got both bolts off from the passenger side. u can go between the hoses on top if u wish. u wont need to take off the intake or any hoses, as some people have described.

when u get it off pay attention to how the pin fits in the center of the sensor. make sure u put the new pin in the new part the same way. dont let it drop. that is the hardest part of putting the sensor on. lining up the pin to the hole without the pin falling out, then putting the bolts back on. i use my fingers to feel the bolt holes. it is tight in there around the actual sensor..very easy to replace.

I already know what the part looks like. I bought one online and saw pics and it should be coming tomorrow. I just looked ahead of time so it wouldn't take so long when I actually went to do it. I just need to go out there with a flashlight, bear the cold for 10 or 15 minutes, and search very carefully, and even move things out of the way if i have to. Thanks for the location guys.
