Motor Mat Question
I am beginning to consider buying Motor Mat from Second Skin Audio and I was wondering if anybody had used this product or had any information as to if it actually worked. I was also wondering if it would be able to withstand the heat of the day and the engine...... it says it has a heat tolerance of 212 degrees F (100 degrees C) and i just wanted to know if it would actually last and work.
P.S. Motor Mat is mounted on the underside of the hood to reduce engine noise and deflect heat which i find is one of the most prominent noises in my 2005 Accord (4cyl).
P.P.S. And before anybody goes balistic, I already tried looking for some answers in the archive.

Not I. Nice idea though. Wouldn't most of the noise you hear in the cabin be a result of noise resonating through the firewall and not the hood? I don't know anything about it but it doesn't seem like it makes much sense to insulate the hood. It seems it would make more sense to insulate the firewall.
It may quiet exterior noise a little, but the noice can escape from under the car, if anything, it may end up making your engine run a little hotter? But your car is brand new, my 93 probably makes 100 times more noise :P
