Default Emissions Warranty Extension

Hi,
Recently I was surfing around the net and found an article talking about how in March of 2003 Honda extended the Emissions Warranty on 1997 accord because the EPA found out they had de-sensitized the knock sensors...I think the warranty was extended for 15yr/150,000 miles(punishment from the EPA).

Anyone have any info on this? I cant find the site I was on when I read that, however if you look here
Under Service Bullitins, the third one down says
98-081 MAR 03 Emissions System - Warranty Extension

I have a 1997 accord and so this interested me very much, any info is appreciated...

yea, the info you got is right. They give you a free OBD checkup for any trouble codes and free oilchange/filter, cap and rotor, plugs and plug wires all installed for free. I needed a tune up so got it done last week. Just call the Honda dealer and they can find your info and run your VIN to see if you qualify.

This is still a current deal,
as long as the car has less than 150,000 miles.
