wats the srs light mean?
hey i have a 2000 honda accord coupe and i was just wondering wat the srs light exactly means, i been looking around and iv seen that it means something wit the airbag..and the seatbelt fastener? so...wat does it exactly mean?
SRS generally means something wrong with the airbag sensor or the airbag itself.
The SRS light came on in my '96 Accord once, then turned back off a day later. Then, it came back on again permanently. I had it reset by a Honda tech. They told me if it didn't come back on, that meant everything was fine. However, it did come back on a day or two later, so presumably that meant there was really something wrong with the airbag. Luckily, I never found out.

With a 2000 it is quite possibly a fault with the OPDS control unit or sensor (parts of the system that detects whether there is a front passenger and controls the passenger air bag accordingly). Honda recently extended the warranty on those items to 10 years/150,000 miles. Honda dealerships should perform a free inspection of the affected parts if you report that your SRS light is constantly on. Might be worth your time to check that angle, at least before resetting the light and ignoring it.
