Default 98 accord brakes

I am having problems getting the rear calipers to compress. I was thinking it has to do with the e-brake mechanism. Open to any ifdeas now.

Are you turning the piston while compressing it?

Twisting the pistons is the way to do it. But if you've been cranking on it with a C-clamp, you may have already damaged the handbrake mechanism.
