Check Engine light, again
Ok, so a little backround:
'98 Accord, 103,500 miles, Sedan, Auto.
So about a week ago, my check engine light went on, but by the time I arrived at home, it was of. Now, it's back again, and I have no owners manual to go by. Could you guys please tell me what might be wrong, and what I can do do not only fix the problem, but keep it from persisting in the future?
Any help is much appreciated.
Also, after a couple hours of not running, the acc. pedal becomes sticky, and I have to tap it before i hit the gas. Any ideas to soften it up?
Again, thanks.

Excuse my ignorance;
But where is the throttle cable, relatively? This I might be able to find on my own. However, I do not know how to find the code that is given to me, as you say. Any help on finding that? Thanks.

Ok obviously a noob at anything that has to do with cars, i'd recommend you take it to a shop or someone you know who can read the code for you so you can atleast know what the problem is and have it fixed.....If your not sure where the throttle cable is then i recommend you let someone who does, deal with your car
Ok, so I found out what the throttle cable is, I just need to check it for any obstructions. Unless you need some sort of Diagnostic tool, I'm pretty sure I could extract the code myself. The light is off again by the way.
the only way to extract the check engine light is to use a code reader. if you have a autozone, advance auto, checker/schuck/kragen in your area they'll do a simple read which will give you the code and what it means.
note: codes higher then P 0999 wont always show, but the dealer would be able to provide you with this information if you ask.
as for the cable I have no answer to why it sticks.
hope this will help

you can also check the code by getting any wire and go under the front passenger side where the glove box is and find a blue connector that only has 2 ends to it not connected to anything else. get the wire and stick one end in each hole to connect both ends. this is the tricky part. you need to find the codes on the internet from 1 to i think is 24 codes. now when you get the codes, and you do the wire thing, the check engine light will flash the codes. 1 quick flash is number 1 code, 2 quick flashes is number two code. number 5 code is 1 long flash and numbre 10 is two long flashes and so on
