i'm thinking about getting some infinity 62.5i( 6 1/2" two-way) front speakers for 00 accord lx sedan.. is this the right size? will i have any trouble installing it myself, fitness wise? i was wondering if this is the good choice of speakers.. i have aftermarket sony head unit. it has some good bass with stock speakers, but lacking high pitch sound.. any input appreciated..

 

6 1/2" is the right size. Whether or not the depth will fit depends on the speaker. I put Kenwood Excellon components in my door and put the tweeters in the dash.

 

I installed an Infinity Kappa 60.5 cs in my 01 Accord V6. I had to cut the back part of the plastic that holds the speakers. Yes a 6 1/2 will fit but depends on the depth. Per Crutchfield catalog, the speakers you have is 2 1/8" deep and the recommended depth is 1 15/16". A little cutting of the plastic and you'll be fine.

 

don't worry about sound quality, infinity is THE SH!T. i got some kappas in my rear and it's amazing

 

i just bought 60.5cs and did the same thing, cutting out the back of the basket and they fit perfectly. hey bumping, did you find the contour control inside the xover box? if you found it let me know

 

I listened to Infinity's and then Boston Acoustics.

Boston Acoustics raped the Kappas. But just my $.02.

sounds pretty clean.. wishing i should got the component instead, but overall i'm satisfied..
