Default Help 1996 Accord (Blinkers aren't working)

Hi,

I am new here, but have been lurking for a while. It’s a very informative forum.

I purchased a 1996 Accord a few weeks ago, and just recently, the blinkers (turn signal lights) stopped working. The hazard lights are working fine, so I know the bulbs are fine. I also checked the fuses and they’re all fine.

Any idea what is might be? What the fix can be?

Thanks in advance.

Check the actual lever on the side of the steering column.

Well, to truly check it you'll need a helms and a mulitmeter to test continuity between the terminals. But you can spot check by just checking from any broken tabs that may cause the blinker stick to not contact correctly. I had to replace my wiper lever because the tab that held the two pieces together broke.

Do I have to remove anything first? Thanks

Yea, the steering wheel top and bottom cover. Should be held on by three phillips screws on the bottom and then it pulls off. The lever itself should be held in place by three or four baby screws(philips) and a wiring harness that will need to be unplugged. After that, just check that nothing moves in a way it shouldn't. It will be pretty obvious if it's broken.
