maybe, if you dont have any bulbs out it could be the relay boxes. u should have 2. one on each side of the tail light assemblies on the right side for both. i have a white one and a brown one. i have a spoiler so my relays r not the same.

Talking about spoilers... is it safe to "tap in" to the break light in order to power up spoiler? I don't have any problems yet, but should I expect any?

The brake light switch is right above the brake pedal, should have a harness with 3 or 4 wires going into it. When the switches go bad, the brake lights just stay on, as its a normally closed switch.

As for "relays", there are none in the brake light system. There are, however, diode/resistor packs at the tail lights that only trigger the "Brake Lamp" indicator on the dash if a bulb is out.

my 'brake lamp' indicator light stays on alot. all of my bulbs r fine. even the 2 filament ones. its the 2 little boxes i described above that i need to replace. the spoiler is controlled by the box on the passenger side light assembly, it should be the brown one. they r easy to replace u just take off the trim cover and unscrew them, unplug, put in new, replug and u r done. ive not done the brake switch either. none of my lights stay on. they work as they should, the brake lamp light comes on when it wants too then just goes out when it wants too. its an old car it has alot of electrical old age issues.
