Default Trans. Fluid--How much is too much?

Hi everyone,

I have owned a 99 Accord EX V6 for about a week. A few days ago, I had the 75k service done at the dealer, including a trans. flush. When I got the car home, I noticed that the trans. was overfull, but I didn't think much of it at the time. It's only about a 1/4 of an inch above the "Full" hole. Then I read that an overfull trans. can be very bad because the transmission fluid can foam.

The manual does not say what to do if the trans. is overfull, nor can I find out how much is too much. A 1/4 of an inch isn't much on a ruler, but it's 100% of the distance between empty and full on the dipstick.

Am I being overly cautious here (i.e. insane?), or should I take it back to the dealer?

Thanks,

EZ

You had the service done at the dealer, the tranny is over filled, and you're not happy. Pure and simple ... go back to the dealer and have them correct the situation.
