my 98 gsr had that prob but it was my distributor and you said you replaced that already.....hmmmm do you have an aftermarket fuel pump like a walbro or something? it might be goin out on you and sometimes cuts off in the beginning, saw you changed the fuel filter, but if your not getting the fuel your car needs to run changing the fuel filter won't help

no i just changed the distributor cap and rotor.....the contact were worn and weren't making contact but like "98coupev6" said might be ur egr valve:

Symptoms of an EGR Valve malfunction: Poor Idle
Varying engine speed with no change in throttle position
Overheating
Increased Oxides of Nitrogen NOx emissions
Failed vehicle emission test

Vacuum operated EGR
1. Check all vacuum lines to make sure there are no leaks.
2. When the vehicle is idling, squeeze up on the bottom of the EGR valve diaphragm.
  •
    • If your vehicle's engine idle speed slows, or the engine stalls, your EGR valve is OK.
If the engine speed does not change, or you can feel hitches in the movement of the valve, replace the valve.
Vacuum or Electronic EGR
  • Unplug the EGR valve, and drive the vehicle on a private road.
  •
    • Be sure to plug the vacuum line if it is a vacuum operated EGR. If the symptoms go away, then you have a bad EGR valve.
  •
    • Reconnect the EGR valve after the test. Operating your vehicle on a public road with disabled emission equipment could violate the law.
  • Many manufacturers recommend replacing the EGR valve every 50,000 miles as preventative maintenance.
  • Cleaning an EGR valve is not recommended. This can result in harmful contaminents entering your engine or in damage to the EGR diaphragm and can cause permanent failure of the EGR valve.

Replacing the EGR usually only involves, unplugging, removing 2 bolts and sometimes uncrewing an additional fitting. Reverse the procedure to re-install, always use a new gasket.
This is for a 98-01 accord
