Hey guys,

When I bought my car it had a set of 215/40/R17's on it, well since these are low pro's and the car hasnt been lowered, there is a nice fender gap on it. I'm planning on buying new tires by fall but I want to start looking now. I want to upgrade them to a bigger size, pretty much at a perfect fit.

What size tires would you all recommend? And also, is it possible to go wider as well, perhaps to 225?

Why don't you just lower it? It'll be cheaper and you won't mess up your speedo. Not to mention a lowered car looks and handles better.

bigger tires will throw off the speedometer and may rub when turning.

 

a larger tire isnt going to cover much of wheel gap espeicially of you have 17's on an accord.

So what it comes down to is that I should just stick with 215/40/R17's? I guess for the winter Ill just try to find a stock pair to use.

 

I have a 5th gen with pretty low drop [stock 15's with 205/60/15's are right up to the fender lip...] but when i put the 17's on there's a huge gap.... btw i have 215/40/17... should i get maybe a 45 series?

 

the difference between 40 and 45 wont make the gap look smaller.

 

what is the acctual difference in diameter??
