I am betting it's a club. group or gang's tag. I bet if you talk around you will find someone else in that area that has the same marks. The scratches seem way to arranged or intentional in design.

The lines are evenly spaced, and they even curve/turn at the same point in the line with the same angle.

Whatever it was, it had 7-points, and they did it in two rows (or the object had multiple rows)

It's an unsightly violation of your car. They probably figured the other cars were more expensive, so that if they get caught, they wouldn't have to pay as much *shrugs*

I don't know if its a gang or not...would doubt it...its a decent area...but there are a bunch of kids (13-18yr olds) that live in the neighborhood...so coulda be them too...hard to say...

I'm guessing yall think the scratches are too deep to be fixed at Autozone? I'll call the insurance today and see what they have to say....Ive got progressive...anyone here with the same?

It's hard for me to tell how deep it is but if you say it's not down to the metal then it's worth it to spend a few bucks on some scratch remover and try to buff it out first. It might not get rid of all of it but if it gets rid of most of it and what's left is something you think you can live with then by all means do so.

No progressive here, State Farm.

They keyed my car(atleast i think somebody tried to) but only got the clear coat so luckily i'm able to buff it out with some wax, but i'm sorry to hear that this isn't the case for you.

christ,

I just noticed someone keyed my car...probably happened at the mall this sunday....by some punk teenager kids who think its 'fun' to do stuff like that. I was hoping that there'd be some talk about how to fix the scratch...but it looks like all the talk is just venting and involving insurance. My case its only one single key line running nearly the lenght of my driver side door, its fairly thin, but fairly deep. Worse part about all this...probably not going to get it fixed....my car's old...plus the cost to fix a key mark is expensive no? My best bet is to fill in that scratch with wax and just try to pretend its not there.

Kids still actually key cars nowadays? That's total shit, total chickenshit. I know if i caught the kid keying my car i'd be in prison for beating his 13 year old face in. Totally senseless, what's wrong with our good country??
