problem with brake pads
I went to take off my brake pads off today...but they wouldn't come off. I don't know what is holding them on i took off the shims and everything but they still wouldn't come off. Does anyone have an answer for this...Has this happened to anyone before...Please Help
you shouldn't have to pry it. Once you rotate the caliper up and out of the way (or take it off), they should either very easily come out or loosen off easily with a few hammer taps. What are they stuck to?
that's what I'm wondering!!! i took the shims off and rotated the caliper up after that i went to take the pads off they are just not coming off. I rotated the roter to make sure that it wasn't rusted on it wasn't i have no clue what is holding it on

So you took out the bolt at the bottom of the caliper, swung the caliper up and out of the way, and the pads are stuck in the caliper?
How did you get all the shims out without removing the pads?
Someone may have used the wrong pads on the last changed and they have seized themselves into the caliper.
Try a big C-clamp, like you would used to press the piston back in on the front.
When you swung the caliper out of the way, did the pads remain in place in the caliper bracket? If so, they're probably wedged in tight at top & bottom where they slide in the caliper bracket. Keep prying & hammering.
When you put in the new ones, make sure they don't wedge in too tight. If needed, file the ends of the pad backing plates so they fit nicely.

The shims came out very easliy. As for the pads they seem to be the correct pads I was wondering that myself but i matched them up they look very similar. But i'll try the c-clamp thing
I installed new pads yesterday on my son's 95 Accord. The pad should come out sideways. Most likely the old pads got rusted and stuck there. I do not see how you can remove them using C-clamp. You need to pry them out. Probably with a scredriver or similar tool. Make sure you do not damage your rotor.
New pads should fit snugly. If not you will have to file/grind them.
Good luck!
