Default flex pipe/header and muffler question

I have a 98 Accord Coupe, with an APEXI cat-back system. Somehow I screwed up the flex pipe (torn/ripped) and need to replace it. Is it possible to just buy a segment and have it welded in. Is this a good idea?
I almost forgot, I have a DC sports 4-2-1 header and Apexi-WS cat-back exhaust, will this make a different in the "sliced" in piece? Meaning, 2inches or a 2.5inch piece must be "spliced" in? I forgot the diamaters?

Thanks in advance guys?

Are you talking about the flex pipe built into the header?

My OE flex pipe is in the B-pipe before the CAT.

If it's in the header pipe, I'd see if AEM-DC would warranty the item. They may provided you have the original invoice-receipt.

In terms of performance, there should no degradation as long as the welded in pipe is of the same diameter and you don't introduce any new bends into the piping. It is 2.5" BTW
