Default SRS ('01 Accord EX)

It looks like I'm probably about the 1 millionth person to ask a question about the SRS light, but I didn't notice anyone having the same issue as myself.

I found a few threads that show how to reset the SRS light by using a jumper wire or paperclip. Following those instructions, the first thing that should happen, is the SRS light should go off after 6-seconds. Mine, however, never turns off. I've used solid wire, stranded wire, paper-clips (of 2 different sizes) and it never goes off.

That can't be good, huh?

It's bright yellow, 2-pin, 2-green wires.. into a dummy plug. That's the description I've found for a 2001 EX

these are the instructions i used to reset the light on my parents 04 Pilot

1st step in erasing the memory is to turn the ignition off and connect the SCS Service connector to the MES Plug,
2nd Turn Ignition on. SRS indicator light will come on for about 6 seconds then go off.
3rd Disconnect SCS service connector for MES connector within 4 seconds after SRS indicator light goes off. SRS indicator light will come on again.
4th Reconnect SCS service connector the MES connector within 4 seconds after SRS light comes on. SRS indicator light will go off.
5th Disconnect SCS service connector from MES connector within 4 seconds. SRS indicator light will indicate that memory is erased by blinking 2 times.
6th Turn ignition off, and wait 10 seconds. Start vehicle like normal and light should come on and go out like normal.

How did this SRS come on? Do you have any clue what did it? You should only jumper the plug when you KNOW what triggered it.

I pulled the fuse while I was troubleshooting another issue that I'd been having. I'm 99.98% sure that I'm the one that caused it.

Have you had any success reseting the SRS light for your 2001 EX?

If so could you post any pictures or describe where to jump it?

All you have to do is jumper the OBDII data service port and count how many times the SRS light blinks. I don't have the picture but it's all over the web.
