Default AEM CAI squeeking

hello all... i'm kinda new here so bare with me. I recently installed an AEM CAI on my 98 accord lx sedan. I dont know if I did it correctly because I did it myself, but everytime I press the gas, at a certain point, it starts to squeek. Its not at a certain rpm, just at about 2inches down on the gas. anyone know why this happens? do I have a leak?

I've heard of intakes kinda wistling (that's normal) but squeeking nope are u sure it's coming from the intake? A suggestion open your hood and rev the engine with the throttle cable, hold it and try to pin point exactly where the noise is coming from.

Yeah, mine whistles when I lightly press the accelarator. It also whistles when the tranny downshifts and lands in the 2500RPM range. It's normal...I like it. I also think it's cool when I turn my car on inside a covered garage. My exhaust is deep and resonates throughout the garage and you can just hear the intake sucking in air.

I'll be back, I'm going for a drive....

Yeah, the sucking is pretty darn loud too. Whenever me and my friend (with a 5th gen lude) go out driving he says he can hear my CAI whistling and that it sounds like a BOV

The wistling will not go away u'll lurn to live with it. It's sucking air so it's normal, a shortram is not better than a cold air because a short ram sits in the engine bay therefore sucking all the hot air, so it decreases performance. The colder the air the better for the engine and the more power u get.

- Whistle -> This will never go away as long as you have an aftermarket intake filter on. This is why the stock intake has a resonator to eliminate this.
- BOV -> blow off valve. Device installed on a turbo engine to relieve extra pressure to avoid overboost
- Shortram -> Get this if you are afraid of sucking up water and causes enigne hydrolock, but it does suck in hot air from your engine. Hot air is not as dense as cold air, resulting in less HP. The intake filter on a shortram is also easier to get to for cleaning.

When you guys say whistle.....do you guys have a "humming" noise too? This is the sound that really gets annoying, and even gave me head aches when i first put it in. Is there anything i can do about the humming?
