Engine timing has absolutely nothing to do with the transmission, it'll be the same for both automatic and manual. They function as seperate units.

The engine timing may have caused your bad idle problem though, however it had nothing to do with the tranny.

I took the IACV back off and cleaned it up once more just to be sure that it was bad. It will hold the proper idle for about the first 3 minutes the car is running, then it goes steady to 1500 rpm,s for about 1 more minute, then starts the revving/searching idle again.

I need a new IACV. The parts store wants 200+ dollars for one. I'm going to post in the WTB forum, so if you guys read this and have a working one please let me know.

As for the other problems, it has been raining here everyday basically so I haven't had good weather to check them out, but I will check them out as soon as I can and report back.

Where is the fuel pump relay you guys are talking about testing? Is it the one under the hood, or is it inside the car like on some other Honda models? I still havent been able to find my Accord book.
