Just make sure you replace the stock header on your car. I didn't and as a result HONDA refused to repair my tranny, They claimmed it altered the output, but they never dynoed the engine. BASTARDS

My Honda dealer replaced my trannies even though I had i/e and GReddy/AEM decals on the windows. Didn't even ask any questions.

Don't worry the decals have since been removed.

I don't see why it matters.... the money doesn't come out of the dealer's pocket for warranty work anyway. Dealers can be crackheads sometimes - especially being that this is a known issue.

I doubt you'll ever see Honda fess up to this one though, if they were ever forced into a recall or got hit with a class-action suit, shyt would hit the fan. Imagine how many V-6 Accords & Odysseys they've sold....

HAHAHA I have a prelude Auto I'm on a different board but just recently found out this place.... funny how we autos and 5spd sing the same old tune over there as well. First off its not just accords ...its ALL HONDA cars.
Dealers dont want to fix the tranny or do warranty work is because they dont make money on that at all. SO why should they bother telling you ok we will fix it when they can say no you have to pay for it and there are some dumbasses out there who will pay. Remember not all Honda owners out there are as savy as we are.
The reason why Honda have horrible trannyy;s is ....this is a good one.... one of the guys in a Prelude forum on another board ..just got a job at Honda working as the engeneer on the transmissions ..checking specs and all that crap. Well his question was why such rate of failure...well the answer was ...Back in the day when Mr. Honda was designing a car he was given a proposition ...having a special company design the auto tranny/ manual and dish out the money for it. But he refused in order to do everything from within the house. SO years later the Honda people are still learning.
SO why not admit the flaw....YOU CRAZY... you know what that would mean... i say a class action suit ...may be even bankraptcy. Just the PRELUDE owners alone are PISSED beyond belife about the tranny failure on our cars. I give this to Honda tranny:madfawk: Level 10 seems to be the way to go... but cost way too much for labor.
Seems like some people are either lucky or not. I had my 98 accord coupe... I had about 70,000 miles on it and the tranny felt a bit slippy ... the gears would bang and all. Thnaks god i got my trusty prelude now... cant wait for this tranny to go:chuckles:
