Instrument Warning Lights
My girlfriend's 2000 Accord has 2 of her instrument warning lights come on recently. The "check engine"and the airbag,(SRS?), light. The check engine light has been diagnosed as the catalytic converter, which costs over $1200 to replace. The airbag light she has not yet had diagnosed. The Accord has 130,000 miles on it.
She wants to buy a new car but is unable to for 6 months. The problem is that the car will be due for inspection this month and she has not been able to get an extension. She wants to find a way to disconect the light so it will pass inspection, therefore keeping it til she is financially able to buy another car,(yes, I've told her that it is probably against regulations). But she just wants to get by for the 6 months, reconnect the lights, and sell the car as is.
Is there a way to accomplish this without disconnecting the whole instrument panel?

I bought a bypass for my o2 sensor when I pulled the dreaded P0420(I think) code. I got it on ebay for $20 and it works like a dream, kind of a hassle to install but well worth the incrase in gas mileage AND no light. Search Accord o2 bypass, or accord bypass on eBay.
Heres the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HONDA...35416545QQrdZ1
Seriously did the trick, no lie.
