Default handbrake light stays on

91 accord lx. Just did my rear drums. didnt get a chance to bleed cause it got late. anyways my ebrake light stays on even after i put it down. I searched the forum and led me to think my fluid is low since some fluid was lost. could there be anything else? it was fine b4 i did my rear brakes. is there something near the drums that would cause the light to stay on?

Did you re-adjust your emergency brake cable afterwards? That will set it off too if it's too tight now.

Or also, if you were messing around with the handbrake cables under the console, check to see whether you bent the bracket for the handbrake switch.

The brake light is probably on because of the fluid. The hand brake has a switch that is in the center console that activates the light, so I doubt that you did something wrong with the rear brakes. As long as the hand brake is ALL the way down, the light should be off.

EDIT: OOOPPS, jim already said this. sorry.

you are low on fluid just fill it up and also keep in mind that you might need to do your front brakes to so just keep that in mind
