Default Front disc brake removal?

Hey guys, I have a quick question on removal of the front brake rotors. What's the size of the nut that holds the rotor to the hub? I noticed this and the biggest socket I have(1 1/8") isn't big enough for this nut. Could anyone tell me what size that nut is please? Thanks for the attention!

I think it's like a 32mm+ but you'll want to double check a manual. You can "rent" one from AutoZone (or whatever you may have in PR). It's a program where you essentially buy the tool that you need, and then when you bring it back, they refund your money. They can also tell you for sure what size you need as that's what I did for mine.

That sounds about right. I knew it had to be huge since my biggest socket still lacks a few mm to wrap around the nut. What I did when I lowered my Ranger was buy a bunch of sockets and the ones I didn't end up using just got returned. I'll also have to go and check out the Autozone since they're about to open one soon where I live. Probably better than Pep Boys anyway. Thanks!

your not supposed to take the hub off to remove the rotor.
You need an impact screwdriver to take those screws off.
DO NOT try and use a phillips screw driver. YOU MUST use a impact screwdriver.
I believe its 2 or 3 screws on each rotor to remove.

Yeah, I guess I should say that. I didn't remove the hub to take the rotor off. I was trying to remove the CV axle at the time. My front rotors are pressed on anyway.

And yes, it may have been closer to a 35-36 mm too.

it depends on whta year accord.....90-97 i beleive you do have to take the hub off to press out the rotor...there is also four or two bolts in the back that need to be taken off. stupid accords...lol

Unlike easy civics, yes you have to remove that damn bolt and it has a torque setting of 181ft-lbs. Good luck with all that.

I assume based on his previous posts that his car is a 6th gen v6 coupe.

90-97 do have pressed hubs
