Akebono calipers

on some performance brake pads, they require akebono calipers, what are these?

If they are Akebono pads, then it's preferred that you used them with Akebono calipers as they have developed their own friction compounds and components, etc. etc. etc.

Also depends on where you saw that requirement... For example some certain years Accord may have either Akebono or Nissin calipers. The pads aren't interchangeable, different shape.
