noice at high speed
Hi, I have a 98 Accord V4 sedan, runs fine, has got 113K on it, just passed honda inspection with flying colors. Recently I have noticed that at high speed (above 65 mph) it make noice as if it is running one gear below the top gear and it feels like soon it will change to top gear after some distance and the noice will become normal but that never happens.
I checked several times on freeway and it changes all gears at appropriate time and speed and the rpm is perfact too.
However when I am driving slow (15 mph or so ) there is no noice at all and everything is perfact.
Any advice is highly appreciated.
Thanks

you're not in "D3" are you? Check your automatic transmission shifter, see what gear you're in.
I think 4th gear hits by 45mph. The noise you're hearing ... it's a high rev on the engine?

feels good.if you do that, you're beyond redline. You'd have to be a moron to do something like that.
Thanks for responding. The rpm is fine and it remains under 3 at 65 mph. today I raised the rpm while parked and didn't hear that noice , so the noice only comes when the car is running at speed, begins to build up after 45-50 mph and keeps on increasing and vanishes upon slowing down.

i think that the 3rd in these automatics is more like a manual 4th
