Yea this happen on my 01 Accord Also. It was on before and i took it to the dealer and at that time it was still under warranty and they replaced it for free. And about 7 months ago, it went back on. As when i took my car to the deal the first time, they said that our Accord Passenger seat is equipped with some kinda of motion sensor. If you put anything weights under 100lbs on the seat, then the seat will picked up the senser and makes the SRS light comes on. I don't know if what he said is true or not but it bothers me and they ask for 90 bucks just to get it diagnosis and whatever the problem is then i have to pay extra. That's BS. I think Honda needs to have a Recall or something cause I have other friends who have Acccords and it happened to them too. Honda does make good/reliable car but they need to do something about this damn SRS light. Help if anyone knows how to fix it.

I just used the procedure on my 2001 Accord LX V6 and it worked great.

The plug is located under the driver side dash, behind the fuse compartment. There are two yellow plugs, it's the smaller one on top. The plug has a green wire and a black wire with a green trace.

There is also a Warranty Extension for SRS lights that covers various Hondas, it is number 06-009 dated March 14, 2006. Call the service department to see if yours is covered (have your VIN).

We both found out it was the driver side seat belt. Now, Honda covers the belt latch, but not the electronics. I just replaced it and end of story.

My SRS light keeps coming back but with no new error codes.
So Honda won't replace any OPDS components (error 15-1, 15-2, 15-3) for me. That includes the seatbelt latch.

Hi OP,

I see that you no longer have your 2001 Accord EX-V6 (from your sig), but if you could point me to where exactly the plug to reset the light it, I would really appreciate it. A picture would even be better. The light on my wife's 2001 V6 LX came on last week and she has been whining about it. I found the write ups but cannot locate the darn MES plug.

I want to add to this. I bitched to Honda long after I paid someone else to replace the buckle (my friend too) and they paid me back!

Default Works like a charm.............

Glad I found this thread. I was working on the fuse box the other day and when I finished the SRS light was on. One thing I would add is that there are two yellow plugs in the back of the fuse box. The one to use is the small one. It is above the larger yellow plug. Great forum!!! Thanks
