Default Gas Milage for 90-93 accords. Post here!

i've been wondering what everyone else is getting with their accord. My gas meter has been acting weird as of late and it seems that i'm getting less than 20 miles a gallon, and I think I would be lucky to get 20 mpg. Back in the summer I got 23 mpg both city and freeway. I'm not sure what is wrong with my car, but it seems awefully low for an accord. The only thing I have on it is an intake. Stuff seems to be coming out of it too. Not sure what it is, but it looks like oil. Do you guys know what the problem is and how to fix it? That would be great.

And please post your milage!

Thanks

stop gunning it.. take out ur intake. just makes u waste more gas. when was ur last tune up? oil, spark plugs, distributor, spark plug wires... make sure ur tires arnt running low on air, and maybe ur car burns more gas cuz its just old... try using fuel injection cleaner as well.

87 gas is fine but throw in some fuel injector cleaner and see if it does anything...

yeah, i'm definitely going to check the tire pressure. i haven't done a tune up yet. I'm due for an oil change within the next 700 miles I put on it. What kinda of tune-up should i do? I don't know if this is regular with the 90-93 accords, but something is coming out of the intake, I'm not quite sure what it is though.

yeah, I just pour regular into the accord.

I have a 92 and conistently get 28-31 depending how bad the traffic is. If oil is coming out of your intake that is not good. Sounds like blowby, which is when the oil rings are not sealing letting oil by. You can check this with a leak down test.

wow, you get excellent milage. I guess it is oil then. Yeah, I've always been wondering where the oil was coming from. How do I go about fixing this and how much will it cost? Oh, does this affect the milage in anyway? Just curious.

If that is the case you would be better off finding a used motor to swap in. Otherwise you would need to do a complete tear down and rebuild. Just depends on how much you want to spend
